With many years of experience in the field, Abat-jour is always willing to satisfy any type of request from its clients and pays particular attention to every detail.
Clients may bring us any type of base upon which to attach a lampshade: candle sticks, lamps, or plant-holders in iron, crystal, ceramic, wood, copper or bronze, antique chinese vases…we transform any imaginable thing into giving a unique object of light!

We have even worked with ostrich eggs, turtle shells, ox horns and even elephant tusks!
We are also available to give any type of advice about how to handle the object.
All work is done completely by hand including the wiring in which we use woven silk wire and plugs of waxed wood. We make lampshades with a wire frame that is made by hand to the exact proportion of the object – even to any type of design desired by the client.  We carefully sew with needle and thread creating any type of ripple or folds of any design and finished with stripes.  And this is how a lampshade is made!
